Although I stayed at the Olive Tree Hotel with the others in our group, there's another place people tend to stay that's JUST outside the Old City of Jerusalem. It's called Notre Dame. We didn't zip over to France...yet. After visiting the Dead Sea, we headed here for a bit to eat and some wine to drink.
The image above shows the view of the two towers at this Notre Dame.
The image below is inside the building. It's an image of Our Lady (Notre Dame).
We headed up to one of the restaurants. This outing was meant more as wine, crackers, cheese, and other appetizers. We had a nice view of the towers and some parts of the city.
It was starting to get a bit dark, but I managed to get a photo looking toward the Temple Mount.
Given some time, it drew darker. The lights came on, and I just had to take a few more photos.
Inside, our group settled down for a bite to eat and drink.
Cheers!
This brought an end to Day 7. The next morning would begin very early as we walked the Via Dolorosa, the path Jesus took to his death. In the time after the trip, this path and this area would take on much more meaning. I guess it's fitting that we had some bits of bread and wine as our last supper before we walked the path of suffering, the way of the cross, the Via Dolorosa. (That just hit me as I wrote this.)
